How to Have a Beautiful, Stress-Free Wedding in Adelaide

What if planning your wedding didn't have to become your second job?

For some couples, spending twelve months choosing venues, suppliers, table settings, timelines, transport and seating plans is part of the fun.

For others, it sounds completely exhausting.

If you've found yourself searching for a simple wedding in Adelaide, an intimate wedding venue, a micro wedding or an Adelaide elopement because you want the wedding without all the wedding planning, you're certainly not alone.

In fact, it's one of the things our couples tell us most often.

Faithwood Chapel was created to offer another way.

A beautiful wedding. Your favourite people. The meaningful moments.

Just with far less to organise.

Can you have a beautiful wedding without months of planning?

Absolutely.

A wedding doesn't become meaningful because it took twelve months and 147 decisions to organise.

Some of the most beautiful weddings we've witnessed at Faithwood have been wonderfully simple.

One of our couples planned their wedding in just over seven weeks.

Another described their planning experience as attending a Faithwood open day, choosing their date and then, essentially, just showing up.

We've had couples tell us they only needed to make a handful of decisions along the way.

And one of our favourite descriptions from a Faithwood couple was simply:

“We didn't have to organise a thing.”

That's exactly the point.

What does Faithwood organise for your wedding?

Faithwood is an intimate wedding chapel in Adelaide, South Australia, designed specifically to take much of the logistical work out of getting married.

Depending on the package you choose, we can bring together the chapel, your legal marriage ceremony, an authorised marriage celebrant, florals, photography and all the little details that make the experience feel like a wedding.

Rather than finding a venue and then beginning the process of sourcing everything else, we've already done much of that work for you.

We work with a wonderful community of Adelaide marriage celebrants and wedding suppliers, and we've thought carefully about how the entire Faithwood experience works from the moment you enquire through to the moment you're throwing confetti as newlyweds.

You still get to make the decisions that make the day yours.

You just don't have to make all the other ones.

What if we don't want a big traditional wedding?

Then don't have one.

There is no rule that says getting married has to involve a huge guest list, a reception venue, a bridal party, twelve months of planning and an enormous spreadsheet.

You can gather a handful of your favourite people in a beautiful chapel, walk down the aisle, exchange vows, have your wedding photographed and go somewhere wonderful afterwards to celebrate.

You can elope.

You can have a micro wedding.

You can have a small ceremony with your family.

You can keep it secret.

You can bring your dog.

You can wear an enormous wedding dress to a tiny wedding simply because you want to.

Small doesn't mean insignificant.

Simple doesn't mean boring.

And stress-free certainly doesn't mean your wedding won't feel like a wedding.

Will a small wedding still feel special?

This is a worry we hear from couples more often than you might expect.

One Faithwood bride told us she was initially worried that choosing a smaller wedding wouldn't feel “wedding enough”.

Afterwards, she couldn't imagine anything more perfect or personal.

Another described Faithwood as the “Goldilocks wedding venue of Adelaide” because they didn't want something big or performative, but they also didn't want to simply sign a certificate.

They wanted something intimate and special with their family.

Something fuss-free.

Something just right.

And honestly, that's a pretty wonderful description of the space Faithwood was created to fill.

What does a stress-free wedding actually look like?

It looks like walking through the doors and knowing everything is ready.

The chairs are where they're meant to be.

Your celebrant knows what's happening.

The flowers are in place.

Your ceremony is organised.

Your photographer knows the chapel.

Your guests are being looked after.

You don't need to know what happens next because someone else does.

One of our brides described arriving at Faithwood and realising she actually had time to say hello to her guests and take photographs because she wasn't running around organising things.

Another said that whenever she found something to worry about during the planning process, she would contact us and we'd find a simple solution.

That's the kind of wedding experience we want to create.

Not one where nothing matters.

One where you don't have to carry everything.

Can we still personalise our wedding?

Of course.

Taking away the logistical overwhelm doesn't mean taking away your personality.

Faithwood couples choose their music, write vows, exchange rings, include readings and blessings, honour cultural traditions and remember people they love.

Some bring their dogs.

Some bring their own flowers or styling.

Some add champagne.

Some disappear into Adelaide afterwards for wedding portraits.

Some fill the chapel with their closest family and friends, while others keep their wedding incredibly intimate.

We give you a framework that makes getting married easy.

What happens inside that framework can still feel entirely like you.

Is an elopement easier to plan than a traditional wedding?

It certainly can be.

An Adelaide elopement allows you to strip a wedding back to what actually matters to you.

For some couples, that's just the two of them and the people required to make the marriage legal.

For others, an “elopement” might include 10, 20 or even a few more of their favourite people.

What they tend to have in common is intention.

Instead of beginning with everything a traditional wedding is supposed to include and slowly removing things, you can start with the two of you and add only the things that matter.

A beautiful ceremony.

Your favourite people.

Great photographs.

Champagne.

Confetti.

Lunch somewhere wonderful afterwards.

That's a wedding.

What do real Faithwood couples say?

We can tell you that Faithwood is designed to make getting married easier.

But we'd much rather you hear it from the people who have actually done it.

Our couples repeatedly describe their Faithwood weddings as stress-free, intimate, easy, effortless, carefree, personal and beautifully simple.

We've heard:

“We didn't have to organise a thing.”

“We essentially just showed up.”

“The process felt effortless.”

“It was a very carefree, exciting and happy experience.”

“Simple, easy and perfect.”

And perhaps our favourite:

“Not too big, not too small, but JUST RIGHT!”

Those words mean an enormous amount to us because they're exactly what we hoped couples would feel when we created Faithwood.
