Faithwood Chapel Adelaide: Everything You Need to Know Before You Visit
Coming to a wedding at Faithwood Chapel?
Welcome! We can't wait to have you.
Faithwood Chapel is an intimate wedding chapel in Adelaide, South Australia, created especially for small weddings, micro weddings and elopements.
If someone you love has chosen Faithwood for their wedding, you might be wondering where you're going, what the day will look like and what to expect when you arrive.
So, consider this your little guest guide to Faithwood.
What is Faithwood Chapel?
Faithwood Chapel is an intimate Adelaide wedding chapel created for couples who want a beautiful, meaningful and stress-free way to get married.
Think small guest lists, beautiful natural light, pews, flowers, vows, happy tears, champagne, Polaroids and a lot of confetti.
Faithwood weddings are deliberately intimate.
Where is Faithwood Chapel?
Faithwood Chapel is located in West Lakes, South Australia. You’ll find us at 4/290 Sportsmans Drive.
If you're attending a wedding with us, please use the location and arrival information provided on your invitation or directly by the couple, as this will contain the information specific to their wedding.
We know it's tempting to arrive extra early for a wedding, particularly if you're someone who absolutely refuses to be the person sneaking into the back row after the ceremony has started.
We appreciate you. However, please arrive on time or only 5 minutes early.
However, Faithwood hosts intimate weddings with carefully planned time slots, so please follow the arrival time your couple has given you rather than arriving significantly earlier. There is plentiful parking directly out the front and additional parking 60m north on Sportsmans drive if needed.
It helps us make sure everything is perfectly ready before we welcome you through the doors. If you’ve arrived significantly earlier than your scheduled time you may have to wait before being welcomed into the Chapel as we host private viewings, meetings, two weddings a day and we lovingly clean and reset in between. Westfield West Lakes is just down the road where you can grab a coffee or a snack or a cheeky cold bev from the BWS before returning at the scheduled time.
What is a wedding at Faithwood Chapel like?
Every Faithwood wedding is a little different because every couple is different.
Some ceremonies are romantic and traditional.
Some are relaxed and funny.
Some couples exchange personal vows and rings.
Some include readings, blessings or cultural traditions.
Some bring their dog.
Some keep the entire wedding a secret.
And some walk back down the aisle newly married beneath an absolutely unreasonable amount of confetti.
What they tend to have in common is that they're intimate, personal and centred around the couple.
You're not coming to watch a production.
You're coming to witness two people you love get married.
How long is a Faithwood wedding ceremony?
The ceremony itself is generally one part of the couple's time at Faithwood.
Depending on what they've chosen for their wedding, there may also be time for photographs, congratulations, Polaroids, confetti and celebrating together afterwards.
Your couple will let you know everything you need to know about where you're heading next if they're continuing their celebrations elsewhere.
The best thing you can do as a guest?
Arrive when they've asked you to arrive and let us take care of the rest.
What should I wear to a Faithwood Chapel wedding?
Whatever the couple has asked you to wear!
Faithwood doesn't have its own guest dress code, so check your invitation for any guidance from the couple.
Our chapel is an intentionally beautiful, light-filled space, but there is no requirement to dress to match Faithwood itself.
Whether your invitation says cocktail, colourful, garden party, formal or simply “wear something fabulous”, the couple's wishes are the ones to follow.
Can children attend weddings at Faithwood Chapel?
Children are very welcome when they have been invited by the couple.
Because Faithwood is an intimate space, we simply ask that children remain supervised throughout the wedding so everyone can safely enjoy the chapel and surrounds. Please ensure children do not pull on curtains or run inside the chapel.
If you're unsure whether your child has been included in the invitation, the best person to ask is the couple.
Can dogs attend Faithwood Chapel weddings?
One of our favourite Faithwood wedding guests has four legs.
Faithwood is dog-friendly, and we've had many very important furry family members join their humans for their wedding ceremony.
If the couple has told you their dog will be attending, prepare accordingly.
They may very well steal the show.
Can I take photos during the ceremony?
Your couple may already have a photographer capturing their wedding, and we'd always encourage guests to be present for the ceremony rather than experiencing the whole thing through a phone screen.
If the couple has specifically requested an unplugged ceremony, please respect that request.
There will be plenty of opportunities for photographs and celebrations afterwards.
And you might even find yourself appearing in a little Polaroid before you leave.
What happens after a Faithwood wedding?
That depends entirely on the couple.
Some Faithwood newlyweds head into Adelaide City for portraits.
Some disappear off for a beautiful lunch or dinner.
Some celebrate with a champagne tower.
Some continue the party elsewhere with family and friends.
And some simply leave the chapel married and go and enjoy the rest of their day together.
One of the lovely things about having an intimate wedding is that there are no rules about what has to happen next.
Why do couples choose Faithwood Chapel?
We could tell you why we think Faithwood is special.
But our couples and their guests probably say it better than we ever could.
Faithwood has been described in our Google reviews as:
“The Goldilocks wedding venue of Adelaide.”
“Simple, easy and perfect.”
“A breath of fresh air.”
“Intimate, romantic & fun all in one.”
“A place made for love, and nothing else.”
And one guest simply told us:
“What a great place.”
We'll happily take that too.
Our couples repeatedly tell us that their Faithwood weddings felt intimate, beautiful, personal, carefree and stress-free.
And their guests often tell us how special it felt to be part of something so small and meaningful.
